I find continuous integration tools essential to Agile software development. One click CI software helps us seamlessly pair collective code ownership with frequent deployments. Yet as we all know there will come a time when the build fails, and we all must be held accountable. I’m not one to punish individual team members that trigger the failure, but it is important for us all to be notified when it breaks.

Nothing quite calls the team to attention like a loud air raid siren blasting through the team room, especially if it occurs during our daily standup meeting! At some point we may switch to visual solution, but for now we’re sticking with the siren.
